Ondertussen werd in Londen met verbazing gekeken naar wat de bezoekjes van Lew Lake allemaal hadden losgemaakt in Amsterdam. Toen Lew Lake in oktober 1930 terugkeerde met een basketballteam onder de naam Cantymca Harries kon er reeds een toernooitje worden georganiseerd met deelname van vier Nederlandse teams, te weten: twee A.M.V.J.-teams, een F.A.M.O.S.-team en een Amsterdamse Korfbalselectie. Hoogste uitslag: A.M.V.J. 1– Londen Central (Harries) 20 - 28. Het is natuurlijk interessant om te weten wat Lew Lake zelf vond van alle reuring die hij had veroorzaakt met zijn clinics. "At the invitation of the A.M.V.J. I came over from London Central Y.M.C.A. to introduce the games known as Basket ball, Volley ball and Hand ball. The gymnasium of the A.M.V.J. impressed me very much, and undoubtedly is one of the best in Europe, while the equipment specially installed for these new games has proved excellent in every way and plainly records the enthusiastic planning of Mr. Rooswinkel and Mr. Kuipers, and the thorough work that it entailed. So many sportsmen have already shown such an appreciation of Basketball in particular that I am proud to feel the game has been established on a firm footing and that a most successful Club will soon be in full swing. Needless to say: I am looking forward very much to the day when we can have matches with teams from London-first to be played in Amsterdam and than in London To those who have already began to appreciate Basket Ball I would say that when they become thoroughly familiar with the game and begin to try the various combination plays leave with them, and learn the art of shooting from any position, they will taste the enjoyments of one of the fastest and most scientific games I know. In conclusion I may say that already I can see, that I shall be most sorry to leave Holland at the end of my stay, as I already have met with such friendship from all the different sportsmen while Mr and Mrs Rooswinkel and Mr. Loosjes have extended so much kindness to me, that I find it hard to prove worthy of such hospitality." Op dezelfde bladzijde staat 'Basketball club':Gezien het enthousiasme voor genoemd spel dat vele sportclubleden afgeloopen 14 dagen (onder leiding van Mr. Lake) hebben gespeeld, verwachten wij zeker , dat wij binnenkort kunnen overgaan tot oprichting van een Basketball-club. Laten zij die voor dit spel iets voelen zich zo spoedig mogelijk opgeven bij den secr. Afd. L.O. Een krantje later volgt de bovenstaande Geboortekaart. Inderdaad speelt in 1931 een A.M.V.J. team een toernooi in London. Gezien de Y.M.C.A contacten is het niet moeilijk om buitenlandse basketball teams met een Y.M.C.A. achtergrond naar Amsterdam te halen. Leuk is wel dat het eerste echte toernooi dat er toe deed in 1932 gewonnen werd door de Nederlandse korfbalselectie. Geen flauwe kul met dat gedribbel , gewoon (man- to-man) verdedigen , passen en die bal er in schieten.(Zelfs als je werd verdedigd).
